Mish mash

I am gettng acclimatized after being away at SLA 2009 conference. Overall it was a great learning opportunity. I went to sessions about Sharepoint, food safety, and competitive intelligence to name a few. The open houses at hospitality suites were also a unstructured informal way to meet fellow information professionals. Highly recommended. A government librarian from Barbados, a law librarian from Washington D.C., and a military librarian were among some of the people I met.

Emma Wood said that Connie Crosby did not present at conference as scheduled. Later on, I caught up with her on her blog and she writes about how she finds out about groups and events. What is striking is how she includes face-to-face contact and getting involved in groups.
