2008 Clawbies

12Dec08

Have you heard of the Clawbies? They’re the “awards” for Canadian law blogs as determined by our peers in the legal blogging community. There are so many to choose from, but I’m going to pass on the obvious favourites like Jordan Furlong’s Law21, or Slaw. Here are my nominations:

1. Solo in Ontario: Criminal Practice Bo Arfai is a new call starting out solo. He started his blog so he could share his journey, and he reaches out to his readers for their advice and opinions. The comments can be as intriguing as the posts.  He has recently added a guest blogger, and plugged another of his colleagues, a solo in business law.

2. Megawatt: B.C. Renewable Energy Blog First of all, they have the coolest name! Secondly, they’re right on top of green initiatives coming out of B.C. And they’ve added tons of link love, so readers can click through to the originals if they want to.

3. Ballad in Plain E [full disclosure: Emma Wood is a friend and colleague]. Emma is an awesome writer. Her posts are thoughtful as well as thought provoking. She makes me feel like anything is possible.

So, who are you going to nominate?
